Nony Borsan

Sometimes you meet a very talented person in an unexpected place. That happened on Mariella monday evening.

I was having dinner when suddenly there was a guy starting to sing and play the piano. He was so good so I forgot to eat my food.

Nony Borsan from Romania.

I don’t think there is a song that he can not sing. He is so good.

You can search for him on Youtube under his name.

Good luck Nony with your future career and I hope to meet you again💝

It was a pleasure to sing with you😉

Rosella

As Rosella is a bit old they have open lifeboats onboard. Sunshine and almost no wind makes the lifeboat drill so much easier

One of the firestations ready for action

The MOB drill was made by the book, a ⭐️ to all crew involved

They have a very nice workshop onboard

And finally we know what there is at the end of the rainbow:

It is an AB with a firehose

Baltic Princess

Baltic Princess is one of TallinkSiljas ships that goes to Turku.

It leaves Stockholm at 7 in the morning which means that I have to get up at 04:30 😴😴😴to be there in time to have a little meeting with the Captain and the Chief Engineer before departure.

This time of year it is easier because it is light outside when leaving Stockholm

On the bridge this Ship has a small Man Over Board station. Smart idea

During a MOB situation one person is taking care of this so the OOW (Officer On Watch) can concentrate on manouvering the ship and get the FRB in the water.

Sometimes when my colleagues are not engineers I take the opportunity to go down to the ECR

Here they have just upgraded the controlroom

Rush hour in Mariehamn, 4 ships in 20 minutes

This is what it looks like when they fill the airbottles for the smokedivers

Beautiful evening in Turku makes it easier to do the drills

THE BEST DAY EVER ❤️❤️❤️

You know that I always say that I have the best job in the world, but NOW I have actually had the best day ever in my whole working life❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️. I am not even going to try to tell how the day went. It went perfect😉.

8 dogs from 5 different countries being trained on a ship for a full day🤩🤩🤩

I’m just going to give you a hint of my fantastic day:

Coming onboard

Searching

Back after a well done job😍❤️

Whit oil on the head😍

For a dog lover like me this was the best workday ever😍😍😍

A big THANK YOU to the Police in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland and of course to TallinkSilja for letting me be a part of this day.

And a special ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ to all the amazing dogs😍😍😍😍😍

Finnfellow

Finnfellow goes between Kapellskär and Naantali mostly with cargo and drivers. It was a very grey early morning

when we came onboard.

This is what a normal fire station looks like on most ships

and the crew are dressed as everywhere else

but they have made this

which I think is very clever and should be spread.

In the evening we arrived in Naantali

And we started the drills that can not be made at sea. The lifeboat drill was made but due to ice there was no driving around

Nice cabin but to little time to sleep😴

At 06:15 we were back in Kapellskär

and after most of the cargo was offloaded

we had a FRB drill

This ship has Scrubber and this is what the computer screen for it looks like

Lucky me

As I have said before I have the best job in the world. And some days are better than best🙂 Last week I had to go for a training in Lisbon, again🙂

I stayed in a different hotel this time wich was also nice, Meraprime Gold. Nice room

And they get a gold star for this:

This hotel is also by Praca do Comercio and the walk to our EU head office

is very nice along the water😎

This training was ISM audit leading and was held by DNV GL.

It was a mix of lecture and group work

It was a very good training.

Friday evening when the training was completed we all went out for a drink🍺

Goodbye Lisbon, hope to see you soon again😍🤩😎

Nova Star

Polferries newest ship between Nynäshamn and Gdańsk is Nova Star. She came here last fall.

It looked like a very nice day when we left but it was freezing cold because of strong winds

The interior is very nice and the crew are doing a very good job.

They have s big area with airplane seats

It even has its own bar

Gdansk was very grey when we arrived the next day

Time for a firedrill, Safety Officer is activating the fire alarm.

It is always she ships crew that decide where and how the fire drill is going to be. This day they simulated a fire in one of the cars on deck. First we tested the drencher

and for training purpose it was simulated that it was not working so the fire teams had to put the fire out

With foam

Evacuation drill and Abandon Ship drill

And they have s mascot

Viking Grace

Viking Grace is a ship not like any other ship in the Baltic sea.

First of all she is runned on Gas instead of Oil and she also has an interior design like no other ship in this area.

The crew works and performs just like on any ship

But the colors and details are so different from the other ships. It starts already in the conference room

Conference center

Stairs

Cabin corridors

Cabins

And I just love the light above the bed

Small details

I guess it was good that I discovered this at 6 o’clock in the morning when it was closed😁

EMSA

As I have said before I have the best job in the world😀 and some days are even better😉

Because we are a part of the EU I sometimes ”have” to go to Lisbon for training, lucky me😎

That happened last week, for a full week. I took the opportunity to stay over the weekend too.

Friday morning I left Stockholm at 08:00

And at 14:00 I landed in Lisbon

The weather was nice almost all week, especially the first weekend. 20 degrees and sunshine. Like Swedish summer.

My way to and from EMSA is a very nice walk

I also pass by a museum that has a very interesting exhibition, especially with consideration to what has happened the last year.

The training was good and all together I had a very nice week. For some reason we are not allowed to take pictures in the training center but it looks like all other training centers😁

I found a very nice Porto

I had dinner at one of my local restaurants Prima Pasta (again) and was served by my favorite waitress

who also introduced me to a very nice wine

I can’t wait until the next time I ”have” to go there again. I really like Lisbon😎😍❤️
