Monday afternoon it was time for a new Host State Control. We went onboard Gabriella that left Stockholm to go to Helsinki. The sun was shining and it was a nice day.

One part of the HSC is to check that everything is ok while the Ship is ”in service”. That includes control of escape routes and lifesaving equipment to make sure that they are not blocked and always ready to use.

I don’t know how many passengers there was onboard but I have never seen so many persons taking part in the music quiz ever🙂

Lots of people out eating in the restaurants keeping the chefs busy

and the waitresses are bringing out hot plates with nice food, always with a smile.

two guys from Trafi came onboard to participate in the HSC and we did all the drills and tests that is part of the inspection and today we also had a drill about how to handle leaking dangerous goods.

Tired but happy with the result of the two days it’s now time to sleep in my favourite hotel in Helsinki, Radisson Blue Plaza

Wednesday started in Tallin.

Our colleagues from the Estonian administration picked us up at Swissotel in the morning and we went down to the Port of Tallin. Baltic Queen arrived

and we went onboard together with Surveyors from the Finnish administration. During a HSC there are things that has to be done according to an EU directive. That includes a Man over board drill, Lifeboat drill, Simulated black out test with an emergency steering test.

The Bridge Officers are involved in the Steering gear test.

We also walk around the whole Ship to see that everything is ok. Like the landingplace for helicopters.

Maintenance is going on all year round.

The crew onboard is very good and the Ship is so well looked after you almost need to take your shoes off in the engine room😉

Practice makes perfect.

On big ships the are 3 different places that you can steer from and this is the Captain and the Chief Officer on the port bridgewing.

In the evening I found these 2 girls working in the pianobar.

And of course there was some Christmas trees.

Monday afternoon we went onboard the ship Victoria 1.

As always they were well prepaired for our arrival and we could start working right away. Ships documents  was checked and we managed to have a lifeboatdrill before sunset.

It was a very nice evening in the port of Stockholm.

Tuesday morning on arrival came representatives from Finland and Estonia onboard and we continued the HSC. The firedrill was as close to real as it could be.

The poor  casualty (a doll, human size) was taken care of by the medical team.

The Captain and his Senior Officers are leading the drill from the bridge.

During a HSC  we are going through the whole ship and this is what it looks like without passengers. The calm before the storm.

My favourite season is coming up and I found one of the best christmas trees ever

After the HSC it was time for us to go ashore in Tallin and stay over night and wait for the next ship that is coming tomorrow.

One of the advantages with my job are the travels. Not the ”living in a suitcase” life but the opportunity the see different places and meet people, I love it. Tallin is a very nice city

and I love to walk passed the flowershops in the old town.

I have also found a very nice meat restaurant, Goodwin. Good food, good service and this time of the year nice decorations.

After a nice meal it’s now time to sleep in a hotelroom with a view.

I måndags hade vi APT och jag var på kontoret hela dagen.

Tisdag tillbringade jag med att läsa två ISM-manualer som förberedelser för ISM-audit på en passagerarfärja och ett rederi.

I morse åkte jag hemifrån klockan 07:00 för att hinna till Silverpilen som hade avgång från Årsta brygga klockan 08:30.

Ombord möttes jag av Silverpilens besättning

och vi kunde sätta igång men besiktningarna.  Sjövärdighet, Fribord och Godkänd Säkerhetsorgsnisation. Det innebär bland annat en kontroll av säkerhetsutrustningen, kontroll av alla öppningar som t. ex. dörrar, luckor, ventiler och spjäll. Godkänd säkerhetsorganisation innebär att man kontrollerar att det som finns nerskrivet i fartygets ”ISM-manual” efterlevs av besättningen.

Det blev en ganska lång dag så när jag åkte hem var det mörkt och jag stannade två gånger på vägen för att ta bilder på fina träd som lyser upp i höstmörkret.

Den här veckan är lite ovanlig för jag är hemma hela veckan. Det var inte så det var planerat men nu blev det så. Det finns fördelar med allt😊 Hann med en date med en mysig kille som tydligen är väldigt väluppfostrad.  Han hade både rosor och vin med sig😍 så mycket rosor så det räckte till två vaser.

Idag har jag tillbringat hela dagen med att göra online kurser i Förvaltningslagen. Ett nödvändigt ont😉 Men med fina rosor och upptäckten om att mina favoritaffär

har börjat med hemleverans blev dagen inte så dum iallafall😊

Idag jobbar vi bara halv dag. Det räcker precis till att åka hem. Trist eftersom jag gillar att vara i norr. Bredvid mig på flygplatsen sitter det en man som ringer typ alla han har i telefonboken. Han börjar varje samtal med ”Har du dålig mottagning?” Konstigt tycker jag🙄 och undrar om det i hans värld är förbjudet att använda ordet Hej🤔🤔🤔

Väl uppe i luften var vi verkligen mellan molnen. Coolt att åka mellan två olika molnsorter som är separerade med så stort mellanrum. Om jag hade varit lite mer intresserad av meteorologin hade jag nog kunnat namnen på dom olika skikten men jag tog iallafall en bild😁

Och över alltihopa skiner solen som alltid.

Idag när jag vaknade på lilla Hotell Amber sken solen☀️ Satte mig i bilen och åkte till Ursvikens varv. Riktigt Inspektörsväder.

Dagen objekt, en av Sjöfartsverkets Lotsbåtar. Uppdragen på en slip för en bottenbesiktning m.m.

På eftermiddagen var det dags att åka tillbaka till hotellet. Strax söder om Piteå ligger Jävre som har en rastplats. Har i alla år åkt förbi och tänkt att det ser så vackert ut ifrån vägen så jag borde stanna där nån gång. Idag var det ”nån gång”.

Det visade sig vara mer än en rastplats men naturligtvis har dom bara öppet t o m 31 Oktober😂 så jag får försöka igen nästa år, men vackert är det❤️

Så fick jag äntligen ett par jobb i Norrland. Dom flesta tycker jag är galen men jag älskar Norrland, oavsett årstid🙂

Onsdag morgon kl 07:00 var det dags att ge sig iväg. Fint väder i Stockholm.

Inte fullt lika fint i vår norra del av landet. Efter att ha fått en massa snö var det 4 grader varmt och regn när jag kom fram, typiskt😂

Den här dagen hade jag ett litet specialuppdrag. Att titta på stakets vara eller icke vara. Vissa ställen måste vara avspärrade.

Efter dagens spionövning där jag inte avslöjades tillbringade jag kvällen med finaste väninnan Lotta. Lite bubbel, mycket babbel och en middag på Norrlands bistro.

Jag måste försöka lära mig att komma i tid. Eftersom jag inte vill komma försent kommer jag ALLTID för tidigt☹️

Nu får jag sitta här och stirra i 45 minuter.

Men det är ju lite finare än nere på ortopeden😁
